Jack Newhouse, 76 of Driftwood, PA and Venice, Florida passed away at his beloved mountain home on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 after a courageous battle with lung disease. He was the loving husband to his wife, Shannon, and together they celebrated 58 years of marriage in May.

Born in West Virginia, he was the son of the late Dale Newhouse and Marcella Fridley Baughman.

Jack graduated from Cowen High School in WV.  He served on the DMZ in Korea with the US Army during the Vietnam Era. Throughout his career he was a welder, machinist, and carpenter and took great pride in his work ethic.  He retired from Gasboy/Tokheim in Lansdale, PA.

Jack was a lifetime member of the NRA, VFW Post 6221 and the May Hollow Sportsman's Club.

Jack was an avid Dale Earnhardt and Eagles fan.  He also loved reading and watching westerns.  In his spare time he loved working with his hands on large and small projects both inside and outside of the home. If you were lucky enough to call Jack your friend, he was your friend for life and would do anything for you. You would also know his gift for telling various stories of his youth and outdoor activities.

In his retirement, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, wildlife viewing, and spending time with his family and friends at his camp in Cameron County, PA and his home in Florida. He always loved traveling with his family.  His most recent vacation was spent in Arizona floating down the Colorado River and visiting The Grand Canyon and Red Rocks of Sedona.

In addition to his wife, Shannon he is survived by two daughters, Anita Newhouse, Red Hill, PA; Kimberly Newhouse, Englewood, FL; four grandchildren: Erika, Dale, Hunter and Sam.  He is also survived by a  brother, Dave of Craigsville, WV and two sisters, Rita of Venice, FL and Kathy of Belington, WV.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step father, Kenneth Baughman and brother, Barry. He was also preceded in death by Chris Venezia, who he cherished as a part of his family.

There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and will be posted in advance on the funeral home website.

My heart is heavy for aunt Shannon and both your girls I think your love story is the greatest not many can say they spent their entire life with their childhood sweetheart but you both did.
